What are metadata used for?
Verify origin
Check which software, device and date produced a file. Useful for authenticating documents or photos.
Detect GPS data
Photos often contain precise GPS coordinates. Check before sharing to protect your privacy.
Document audit
A Word or PDF document can reveal its author, revision history or the company that created it — information often forgotten before sending.
Audio & video tags
Check the ID3 tags of your audio files (artist, album, genre, bitrate) and technical information of your videos (codec, resolution, FPS).

Yes, the file is temporarily sent to our server for metadata extraction (some formats like PDF, DOCX or audio require server-side libraries). The file is immediately deleted after analysis — no data is retained.
The maximum size is 50 MB. For large videos, only the first bytes are analysed to extract codec and resolution information — the entire file is not required.
