PNG vs SVG — which to choose?
PNG — ideal for web and standard printing
PNG is a raster format: quality depends on resolution. Choose 400×400px for web, 800×800px for printing up to A5, and 1200×1200px for larger prints. PNG supports all colours and is compatible with all systems.
SVG — perfect for large-format printing and professional use
SVG is a vector format: it stays perfectly sharp at any size, from a stamp to a 4×3m billboard. It's the recommended format for business cards, flyers, signage, packaging and any use requiring maximum quality. Rounded modules look particularly elegant in SVG.
Best practices
Make sure the background colour offers sufficient contrast with the foreground — a contrast ratio of at least 4:1 is recommended to ensure mobile scanners can read the QR code easily. Avoid dark backgrounds with dark modules.
